Who We Are

Ryan Scott

day-14-17-williams-az-to-barstow-ca-0982The year was 1976 and it was nothing like Ryan had ever seen, completely different than every other kid on the blocks’ Big Wheel. It was the beginning of the end, it was his very first ride, it was the Green Machine.

Moving on from the Green Machine, Ryan would sneak the keys for his dad’s Honda Passport or borrow the Puch moped his grandfather got for him in ’79. In 1985, he won a “state-of-the-art” boom box and I traded it for a friend’s older brother’s old Honda 500 Twin. He rode that endlessly up and down the coast of Lake Michigan until it gave up the ghost. After that, small trips to the West Coast and riding through the mountains of Colorado, on his “trusty” Triumph Bonneville.

In his late twenty’s and early thirty’s, he was inspired to join his younger brother and good friend to the bizarre and beautiful country of India where he put thousands of miles on a Royal Enfield Bullet. From the mountains of Nepal to the deserts of Rajasthan, Ryan learned a lot about what it takes to keep and maintain a bike when a break down means being stranded 250 miles from the nearest mechanic.

Jeff Chaffin

Former dealership mechanic and all around wizard of wrenching, Jeff’s love affair with all things two wheels can be traced back to a bright summer day when he was just a kid eyeing his older brothers brand new puch moped.  His brothers admonishing voice going through his head, “don’t touch it Jeff”, as he excitedly stole the keys and quietly slipped out of the garage for his first ride on two wheels.  He was hooked.  But Jeff isn’t your average gear head.  As well as being a skilled mechanic, he also has a bachelors degree in classical civilizations and ancient languages.  Bet you didn’t know that!
